In a remarkable display of national pride, Shri Govind Dholakia, the Founder-Chairman Emeritus of Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK), gifted Prime Minister Narendra Modi a unique natural diamond named “Navbharat Ratna.” This diamond, weighing 2.120 carats, is intricately shaped to outline India, symbolizing the unity and brilliance of the nation. Crafted by skilled artisans from Surat, known as the diamond city, this masterpiece reflects India’s rich tradition of craftsmanship.
The creation of “Navbharat Ratna” involved nearly 3,700 minutes of meticulous work. Artisans Rajeshbhai Kachadiya and Vishalbhai Italiya played pivotal roles in its crafting; Rajeshbhai dedicated 40 hours to shaping the diamond, equating his effort to a soldier’s sacrifice, while Vishalbhai spent 22 hours polishing it. Their work embodies the passion and skill that characterize India’s diamond industry, which processes 90% of the world’s diamonds.
This diamond serves not only as a tribute to India’s prosperous future but also as a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship of its artisans. The “Navbharat Ratna” stands as a symbol of hope and unity for India, crafted with love and vision by its dedicated artisans.
