GJC Appoints Rajesh Rokde as Chairman and Avinash Gupta as Vice Chairman for 2025-26

The Gem and Jewellery Council of India (GJC) announced the election of Rajesh Rokde as the new Chairman and Avinash Gupta as the Vice Chairman at its first meeting of the Committee of Management (COA) Board of Directors for the period 2025-26. following the elections in December 2024.

Rajesh Rokde expressed his honour to take on this leadership role at a critical time for the Indian gems and jewellery sector. He highlighted the transformative potential of the sector and set out a mission focused on sustainable growth, enhancing consumer confidence and gaining global recognition. Rajesh Rokde is dedicated to collaborating with industry leaders and community organizations to achieve important goals in the gem and jewellery industry.

New Vice President Avinash Gupta expressed his gratitude for his role and looks forward to tackling industry challenges with Rajesh Rokde and his team. He highlighted the company’s commitment to ethical practices, technological innovation, and supporting small and medium-sized businesses.

The Gem and Jewelry Council (GJC) aims to unite community voices and drive industry growth. Under the leadership of Rokde and Gupta, the Board of Directors is focused on innovation and strategic progress for the benefit of the entire industry.

In addition, the new leadership will promote initiatives such as ‘Make in India’ to boost local manufacturing and improve consumer confidence in domestic products, thereby fostering a more enabling environment for stakeholders.
