The wealth of India’s 100 billionaires has surged by over $300 billion, reaching a total of $1.1 trillion, largely driven by a robust stock market performance over the past year. According to reports, 83 billionaires experienced an increase in their net worth, while only three —the Dhingras of Berger Paints, Joy Alukkas, and Ajay Piramal of Piramal Enterprises—saw declines.
Mukesh Ambani leads the pack with a net worth exceeding $119.5 billion, solidifying his position at the top, followed closely by Gautam Adani, whose wealth stands at $116 billion. This remarkable growth reflects a broader trend of increasing wealth among Indian billionaires, positioning India as the third-largest country in terms of billionaire count globally, trailing only the United States and China.
