About the Job:
Position Summary:
We seek an experienced and organized Diamond Jewellery Manufacturing Specialist to oversee various stages of the production process, including Production Planning Control (PPC), CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing), quality control, diamond handling, and final product packaging. This role demands in-depth knowledge of the jewellery manufacturing process, from initial design to finished goods (FG), and a focus on precision, quality assurance, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in both manual craftsmanship and the use of modern machinery and software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Planning Control (PPC):
- Plan and oversee the production process, from raw material procurement to finished goods, ensuring timelines and production targets are met.
- Coordinate with design, manufacturing, and quality control teams to ensure smooth workflow and optimal resource utilization.
- CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing):
- Operate and manage CAM software to produce precise 3D models for manufacturing.
- Work closely with designers and production teams to ensure that designs are accurately translated into manufacturing specifications.
- Grinding and Machine Filing:
- Perform manual and machine filing tasks to refine and perfect jewellery components after casting.
- Operate grinding machines to smooth and shape metal parts, ensuring consistency with design requirements.
- Gold Issuance and Material Management:
- Manage the issuing of gold and other precious materials to different production teams.
- Track and record material usage accurately, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Diamond Bagging and Finding:
- Handle diamond bagging and sorting processes, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy in the selection of diamonds for each piece of jewellery.
- Collaborate with diamond setters to provide the correct stones for various designs.
- EPAG Machine Operation:
- Operate EPAG machines for high-precision polishing and finishing of jewellery pieces.
- Ensure the machinery is well-maintained and operating efficiently to produce flawless finishes.
- Quality Control (QC) and DIA Quality Control:
- Conduct thorough quality checks at each stage of production to ensure jewellery meets design and craftsmanship standards.
- Perform detailed DIA (Diamond) Quality Control, inspecting stones for flaws, setting accuracy, and overall aesthetic quality.
- Rhodium Plating:
- Manage the rhodium plating process for white gold and platinum jewellery, ensuring an even and durable finish.
- Adhere to safety and quality protocols during the plating process.
- MQC (Manufacturing Quality Control):
- Lead the final inspection of jewellery pieces before they are certified as finished goods.
- Ensure that each piece meets industry standards for durability, design accuracy, and aesthetic appeal.
- Certification and IGI Repair:
- Oversee the certification process, ensuring that all finished goods are evaluated and certified by recognized institutions such as IGI.
- Handle IGI repair requests, coordinating with the design and manufacturing teams to resolve any issues related to certification.
- Tagging and Packing:
- Ensure accurate tagging and labelling of finished jewellery for identification and tracking purposes.
- Oversee the packing of jewellery pieces, ensuring they are safely and securely packaged for shipping or display.
- Final Goods (FG) Management:
- Coordinate the final inspection and approval of finished goods before they are dispatched for distribution or sale.
- Manage inventory records for finished goods, ensuring accurate tracking and availability.
Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma or certification in Jewellery Manufacturing, CAM, or related fields preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 0-5 years of experience in diamond jewellery manufacturing, with specific expertise in production planning, CAM, and quality control.
- Strong background in operating machinery such as EPAG, as well as hands-on experience in filing, polishing, and diamond bagging.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in CAM software and production planning tools.
- Strong understanding of diamond quality control standards and jewellery certification processes.
- Expertise in metal finishing techniques, including grinding, filing, and rhodium plating.
